Living History – Children’s school picnic
The Family treated women and children from the village to a party once a year. Long tables would be set-up under the great trees in the park, covered with trays of sandwiches, pink iced-cakes and jugs of tea and lemonade. Games were laid out on the North Lawn, including swings, roundabouts and see-saws.
