A charity concert of rock & pop hits with the ever-popular Rock Choir in the village's beautiful Norman church, to raise funds for its £300,000 roof appeal. Rock Choir is the UK's most popular contemporary choir. With over 20,000 members across the UK, anyone is welcome to join! Jonathan leads choirs all over East Kent including a Thursday Morning choir in Margate. From a choir of under 10 people, in the last 4 years this choir has grown to over 80 members. Members have sung with Russell Watson at the Marlowe Theatre, performed live on the One Show, taken part in a performance at the NEC Arena, supported the Saracens at Wembley Stadium and most recently recorded at Abbey Road Studios! They have also taken part in numerous local shows including the Broadstairs Folk Festival. The 13th century church is listed in Simon Jenkins's "England's 1000 Best Churches", and is known for its excellent acoustics, friendly welcome and delicious refreshments.
Performance 7 p.m. to around 8 p.m. Refreshments will be available after the concert. Tickets £5 on the door; free admission to under 12s. As this is in aid of the church’s roof appeal, there will also be a retiring collection.
