York Cycle Rally 2018
Inspired by the Tour de Yorkshire? Or just like to get out and about by bike? Then come to the York Rally, a traditional, volunteer-organised celebration of cycling. Building on a 70-year history this is an old-fashioned grand weekend of cycling with some modern touches, all set on the Knavesmire in York. There's camping on site and masses to do for all ages and abilities including: Rides from five miles to 50+, with a good selection of family rides away from traffic. For kids - come along for smoothie bikes, live music, plus educational activities from Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Watch (or take part in!) grasstrack racing in the arena, and Yorkshire Cyclo-Cross Summer Series racing. Plus there's a trade show, displays from cycling clubs, catering, an auction for cycling bargains and live music and a bar in the evening. It's free to get in, free parking, and almost everything on site is free too!
Open from 9AM Saturday to 4PM Sunday - entry to the site and almost everything going on, including rides, is free! It’s a pound to get into the cycle jumble (unless you have bought a show programme for £1) and there is an entry fee for the Audax ride on Saturday, but that’s about it...
