Ida is PG13 rated and is a poignant film set in postwar communist Poland. The story is of a novice nun sent away to her only living relative, her aunt, to test whether she should take that final step. The relative reveals to Ida that she is not Catholic but Jewish, and so they take a road trip to discover what happened to Ida’s parents during the war. On the way they pick up a young hitchhiker and Ida’s commitment to her life as a nun is truly tested.
