Conductor Edward Peak and Orchestra dell’Arte continue their journey through the world of music with their next concert in their third series as Orchestra-in-Residence at the magnificent St George’s Hall in Liverpool. The second concert of this 2016/17 season further illustrates The Voice and how composers have used voices in their works. Featured now is the male baritone voice through arias from Don Giovanni (Mozart), The Barber of Seville (Rossini), Carmen (Bizet) and the fabulous Prologue from Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. These will be sung for you by Julian Boyce from Welsh National Opera. The Orchestra will complement the arias today with some of the best and most popular items related to the operatic stage including the overtures William Tell (Rossini) and Marriage of Figaro (Mozart); two very grand pieces by Gounod (Judex from Mors et Vita) and Verdi (the March from Aida) plus the ever popular Carmen Suite (Bizet).
