Dorking South Street Caves Open Day
Dorking’s famous South Street Caves re-opened in 2015, with group tours organised by Dorking Museum. This year, individual bookings can be made for selected Open Days. The caves date from the 17th century and were long used for storage of wine, although other rumours abound. Staircases, galleries and chambers lead down to the lowest chamber, known as the ‘Mystery Chamber’, 50 feet below street level. Group tours may be booked on any day, but book well in advance for the popular Open Days –
