Wooburn Singers

Wooburn Singers is a chamber choir, singing a wide range of music from 16th to 21st century and performing 4-5 concerts a year around South Buckinghamshire, two Come & Sing days plus a European Tour alternate years. Recent concerts have included Rachmaninov Vespers and a very successful evening of Bruckner motets with Onyx Brass. In collaboration with the baroque players from the Oxford Bach Soloists, we have performed Bach’s St John Passion in 2014, Magnificat in 2016 and Mass in B Minor in 2018. The St Matthew Passion is planned for 2020. Summer concerts focus on lighter music such as Shakespeare in Jazz, Cinema Classics and most recently an evening of Gershwin and Tippett at the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London.
We are always keen to welcome new members. We are currently offering free one-year bursaries for new tenors and basses aged 18-30.
We rehearse in Beaconsfield on Wednesday evenings in term time.
