Mini Professors Sheffield West

Mini Professors is a new and exciting programme that has just started in Sheffield, which brings science to children in an understandable format that they love. “Science is all around us!” is the ethos of Mini Professors, owned by Dr Julia Paton (Prof. Ju Ju) a scientist at The UoS. Her main aim is to instil a lifelong love of learning and a passion for science in children from an early age.

Mini Professors offers an environment where inquisitive minds marvel at science! Each themed-session is made accessible yet does not “dumb down” information and most importantly it’s fun fun fun! Every week has a different topic (there are over 80 exciting themes to choose from) including dinosaurs, magnets, robots and the brain. Each session is 40 minutes long and includes a welcome song, two hands-on experiments, fun facts with pictures and props, a bespoke video as well as a relevant story. Mini Professors can also wear their own lab coats and name tags, to really get into the scientist role!
