Shropshire Art Society

Shropshire art society is a thriving community of artists and lovers of the visual arts, based in the beautiful county of Shropshire.

We showcase our work to the public in two annual art exhibitions in Shrewsbury and organise a wide variety of activities for our members including workshops and classes, plein-air sketching days, lectures, gallery trips and painting holidays.

Our friendly society was founded in 1948 and has over 200 members. As a society we have four main aims:
To encourage an interest in the visual arts
To arrange classes, workshops and visits for our members
To organise an exhibition of our members work
To render practical help to artists

Membership is open to painters and non painters alike applicants are simply required to be a resident of Shropshire and a love of visual arts
