Founded in 1911, the Society of Genealogists is a charity with a unique purpose – to help people discover their place in history. We preserve the records of everyday lives and make them available to anyone wanting to understand where they’ve come from.
Our Research Hub in London encompasses our library, archive and computers with access to online subscription genealogy sites. We're open to members, and non-members are welcome to visit for a small fee. You are welcome to visit at any time during our opening hours, however, not all of our collections are kept onsite, so to guarantee access to the material you need or to reserve a computer, please book in advance. www.sog.org.uk/research-hub/visit-us/
Our online courses and talks on Zoom are open to everyone. If you're interested in family history or social history or local history, you're very welcome. Details of our events are here: members.sog.org.uk/events
