Northampton Philharmonic Choir was founded in 1896 as the Northampton Musical Society. Throughout the twentieth century the Choir went from strength to strength, performing substantial choral works and earning a prestigious reputation in the area.
Over the years the Choir has performed not only in Northamptonshire but also in many of England's great cathedrals and churches, including Peterborough, Tewkesbury, Wells, Lincoln, Worcester and Winchester.
Christopher Mabley became the Choir's sixth Musical Director in October 2005, and since then there has been a resurgence of interest in its musical activities with performances of new and challenging programmes. The Choir continually strives to offer the widest range of good choral music to its members and audiences alike.
A warm welcome awaits you if you would like to sing with us. Our regular rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings at 7.15pm in St Michael's Church, Perry St, Northampton, NN1 4HL.
