Northumberland Wildlife Trust was founded in 1971 to protect wildlife and promote nature conservation within Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland. Today, our voice for wildlife is stronger than ever.
We are a non-government funded charity, supported by membership, donations, local businesses and charitable trust grants.
We manage over 60 nature reserves and work with partner organisations such as local authorities, the Environment Agency and the Forestry Commission to identify and care for other sites of conservation importance.
Educating the public about the value of the nature is one of our key aims. We run environmental education sessions with local schools, organise a wide range of events and conservation talks throughout the year, and engage with over 150 volunteers who give their time, energy and enthusiasm across a number of conservation tasks.
YOU can get involved and make a huge difference to native wildlife on your doorstep.
