RSPB Rainham Marshes nature reserve

Get close to nature, enjoy stunning views, fabulous sunsets and explore the reserve – all right next to the River Thames.

From breeding wading birds, water voles, grass snakes and an abundance of dragonflies and butterflies in spring and summer; to large flocks of wild ducks in winter, there’s always something to do or see. You can visit all year round - there's lots to see and do.

You can hire a bicycle, play in our adventure playground, climb our climbing boulders or join an event, or visit our cafe and shop.

The Thames riverside paths give lovely views across the Thames - where you will see birds, boats and London. These paths are great for jogging, cycling and walking your dog too.

Rainham Marshes opens every day except Christmas day and Boxing Day.
