Maple Lodge Conservation Society

Maple Lodge Nature Reserve consists of 40 acres of lakes, marsh, hedgerows and woodland. It is owned by Thames Water who lease it to the volunteer members of the Maple Lodge Conservation Society.

The reserve is one of Hertfordhire's hidden secrets and is home to a rich variety of wildlife including waterfowl, woodland birds, bats and butterflies. There are two lakes and many hides to explore around the reserve, some of which have wheelchair access.

The reserve can be accessed by members of the Society all the year round. Membership of the Society is open to anyone with an interest in conservation and natural history. Details regarding membership and access can be found on their website (see below).

The Society organises open days and other events throughout the year when members of the public can visit the reserve.
