Chorley Branch was formed in 1990, joining other branches within the LFHHS, a member of the Federation of Family History Societies. From the onset we held monthly meetings, with speakers on various subjects (mostly Family History related) who we hope have interested, and helped our members.
For many years we met in Chorley Library, but late in 2017, circumstances dictated that we find another suitable venue, so we currently meet in Cunliffe Hall, on Cunliffe Street in Chorley, although this meant that we had to change our regular meeting day from Tuesday, to the 3rd Thursday of each month. We still have well attended meetings, starting at 7:30pm.
The Branch is always pleased to welcome non-members to the meetings, and application forms to join the Society are available.
If anyone has suggestions for future speakers and subjects of interest, they will be very welcome. Please do think about it, and don’t hesitate to put your ideas forward
