First World War presentation-Clearing the dead 19191-1939

There is currently considerable interest in battlefield archaeology. Between the wars, however, a process similar to modern archaeology was carried out to attempt to unearth the missing and bury them properly in IWGC cemeteries. How was this done? Who did it? What were their experiences? The talk will be given by Peter Hodgkinson who is a Clinical Psychologist, with an MA (2006) in First World War Studies at Birmingham University, and a PhD (2013) in Infantry Battalion Commanders. Doors will open at 7:00pm, with the presentation starting at 7:30pm.

The talk is free although a small donation, payable at the door, is encouraged to pay for the running of the branch & to support it’s activities.

Non-WFA members most welcome.
