The local Rowsley choir is run by vocal tutor Rachel Modest. Over the past few years Rock Choir has become firmly ingrained on the national consciousness, with its unique mix of en-masse singing, fundraising, television appearances, and emphasis on supporting local communities. With performances at prestigious national venues such as the O2 arena (which we sold out!) and sporting events such as Sport Relief, you too can have the opportunity to be a singing star!
Whether you only sing in the shower or along to your car radio, or whether you see yourself belting out a showstopper at Wembley Arena (which we did! - for the ITV1 documentary 'The Choir that Rocks'), there's a place for you in the Rowsley Rock Choir. With no singing audition or need to read music, anyone can come along to a FREE taster session and see what all the fuss is about!
Here is a quote about our choir - 'I spend many hours every day driving and in meetings. It's often quite a struggle to get to Rock Choir and I often don't really feel like making the effort. Something magic happens when I get there - a combination of the unfailing cheerfulness of our Rock Choir tutor, the physical movement, breathing and singing, the (usually!) lovely sound of the combined voices of the choir - suddenly the stress of the day melts away, energy returns and a feeling of well-being arrives.
