The VISUALise textile art exhibition features artwork by 13 textile artists: Wendy Bates, Jane Caven, Anne Clayton, Janet Gosling, Bridget Hawkridge, Sandra Jenkins, Therese Kane, Karin Kirk, Mary Martin, Alyssa Robinson, Jane Stock, Val Taylor, Tess Thompson and Rebecca Warrington.
It includes artwork inspired by the manor, gardens and the history of the ancestral home of George Washington. IT will coincide with the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence. On show will be abstract, realistic and figurative art using a wide range of media… wire, paper, fabric (new, distressed and recycled).
These have been hand and machine stitched, or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment. As well as wall mounted art other smaller unframed pieces, cards and accessories are on show to inspire and buy.
