Back after two years and this year taking place during the national Platinum Jubilee holiday weekend, Wellow Maypole Celebrations is a much loved traditional family day out based around the children's procession, crowning of the May Queen and dancing around Wellow's unique 17m high painted maypole on the village green. However, Maypole Day is also so much more - featuring live entertainment, live music, Punch and Judy, children's swing boats, together with many stalls and exhibits. Buy from local artisans, try your hand at the games, have a go on the tombola and buy a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to win a host of excellent prizes! As ever, our wonderful cake stall will be laden with home made goodies. Hot food, refreshments and ice creams will be available on the green, and the maypole cake stall can be found in the Memorial Hall.
