The acclaimed Brodsky Quartet, comprising Krysia Osostowicz & Ian Belton (violins), Paul Cassidy (viola) and Jacqueline Thomas (cello) perform Shostakovich’s 11th Quartet – perhaps his most approachable work, followed by Mozart’s lovely Prussian Quartet KV589, and the concert concludes with Beethoven’s late, great Op.130 Quartet with its central exquisite Cavatina, in the final published version. Bringing unrivalled authority to performance of string quartet repertoire since 1972, the Brodsky Quartet has performed over 3,500 concerts on major stages across the world and have released more than 70 recordings. A natural curiosity and insatiable desire to explore has propelled them in many artistic directions, ensuring not only a prominent presence on the international chamber music scene, but also a rich and varied musical existence. Their energy and craftsmanship have attracted numerous awards and accolades, while ongoing educational work provides a vehicle to pass on experience and stay in touch with the next generation.
