This Talk (originally scheduled earlier in the year), now takes place on Weds 5th August. Dale Wiseman presents Aviation, Money and Politics, the remarkable story of Lady Lucy Houston (1857- 1936) who, from humble beginnings, thrice married accumulating vast wealth. What did the money mean to her? What did she use it for?
Amongst other things Lucy supported many projects including the Suffragettes, and the future Spitfire aircraft.
She also mixed with and confronted some of the big political figures of her era.
Churchill and Oswald Mosely were just two who faced this British Boudica.
Come along and find out more about her... She is far more than just a footnote in British History!
