If you are wanting to join a choir you'll like singing with us in the Hexham Rock Choir.
The Hexham Rock Choir is led by local vocal tutor Rob Slater. We support a number of local charities, raising money and awareness around Northumberland and as a choir we also sing together with other Rock Choir singers in the nearby choirs to support national charities such as Sign2sing, British Airways Flying Start and the Edinburgh and London Moonwalk's with flash mobs, fundraising events and concerts.
Whether you only sing in the shower or along to your car radio, or whether you see yourself belting out a showstopper at Wembley Arena (which we did! - for the ITV1 documentary 'The Choir that Rocks'), there's a place for you in the Hexham Rock Choir. With no singing audition or need to read music, anyone can come along to a FREE taster session and see why the Hexham choir members recommend their friends!
Here is a quote about our choir - 'I spend many hours every day driving and in meetings. It's often quite a struggle to get to Rock Choir and I often don't really feel like making the effort. Something magic happens when I get there - a combination of the unfailing cheerfulness of our Rock Choir tutor, the physical movement, breathing and singing, the (usually!) lovely sound of the combined voices of the choir - suddenly the stress of the day melts away, energy returns and a feeling of well-being arrives. It's been a difficult year for me - got divorced, my best friend with terminal illness passed away and I survived a tricky restructure at work, Rock Choir has often been the one really positive highlight in my week - thank you!' - Sue (Rock Choir Member)...
