The performance will start at 7.30pm High Street Methodist Church, Harpenden AL5 2RU VIVALDI: GLORIA MOZART: EXSULTATE JUBILATE HANDEL: CORONATION ANTHEMS Conducted by Musical Director John Andrews with the King’s Sinfonietta and soloists Susanna Fairbairn and Joanna Harries. Harpenden Choral Society is delighted to present a concert featuring three masterpieces of the Baroque and Classical eras, united by their spirit of praise and celebration. Vivaldi’s Gloria is one of his best-loved works, full of contrast and colour. Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate shows Mozart at his most lyrical and elegant, building to the dazzling final Alleluia. Handel’s Coronation Anthems are music of great grandeur and ceremony. Handel wrote these anthems at speed, but their impact has proved remarkably lasting.
