Come and meet Valentina Short at the Heritage Centre for one of our ‘Meet the Maker’ events. Northumberland based acrylic artist Valentina Short has been developing her artwork for several years, since retiring from the NHS. Inspired by the rugged landscapes of Northumberland and Scotland. Valentina’s artwork aims to capture the wild skies, seas, mountains and moors most dear to her. Painting from photographs and sketches, Valentina works from her home to recreate the scenes she has captured. Her work tends towards the abstract, depending on the feelings invoked by the landscape. A selection of Valentina’s work is available to purchase for a 2 week period in our shop from Saturday 11th May, or directly from her on her Meet the Maker day on Saturday 25th May.
