Paris 1924

Paris 1924 To mark this summer's Paris Olympics, Temenos Chamber Choir, conducted by Patrick Craig, presents a concert of French sacred music written by composers living in Paris in 1924, where the Olympics were held exactly 100 years ago (of Chariots of Fire fame). Composers such as Vierne, Widor, Poulenc and Faure, were all part of the rich musical scene in Paris at that time. The organ played an inceasingly important role in French sacred music, and the concert will feature James Orford as soloist on the St Luke's organ, playing some fiendish and exciting accompaniments as well as solos.
