Sterling Silver Jewellery Workshop

Hummersknott Academy, Edinburgh Drive, Darlington DL3 8AR Early Bird Offer - 20% off - Was £95 Now £76 - Offer valid until 4th June 2024 In this workshop, taught by Rebecca Stevenson, you will create a rubover set silver ring featuring your choice of a 6mm labradorite or blue agate as a centre piece. You will begin the day by learning some basic techniques and create a simple band for the stone setting to be placed on. Then you will be guided through how to complete a rubover stone setting including soldering the silver setting. Your work will be perfected using finishing techniques and you will leave the workshop with a shiny new stone set ring. Within the workshop, Rebecca will guide you through a range of tools and processes allowing you to try texturing metals, forming metals, soldering and of course finishing techniques to complete your wonderfully polished outcomes. Rebecca has a BA Hons in Jewellery and Object and had the opportunity to learn from a range of fantastic exhibiting jewellers and makers during the course. Rebecca is also a teacher of Design Technology so can put those without experience at ease so that the workshops are enjoyable for all. Rebecca has been running silver jewellery workshops for both adults and teenagers for several years within North Yorkshire. If you intend to make your ring for someone other than yourself, please attend with their ring size, or the internal diameter of a current ring, if ring size is unknown. This workshop is suitable for adults and accompanied teenagers. No previous experience is required.
