This exciting and prestigious new concert series will feature all 32 of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas throughout 2024. Featuring exceptional performances from leading UK and international pianists, these concerts will be an unrivalled opportunity to enjoy some of the world's greatest piano repertoire, as curated by our guest performers. Set in the stunning candlelit venue of St Giles Cathedral, with it's newly installed Steinway Grand Piano, this will be a musical experience to remember! St Giles is situated in the heart of the Royal Mile with many bars and restaurants nearby to complete your evening. Featuring Dominic John (piano) Programme Bach/Rachmaninov - Suite from the Partita No.3 in E Major Beethoven - Sonata for Piano in A Major, Op. 2 No.2 Liszt - Sposalizio (Années de Pèlerinage Book II: Italie) Schumann - Etudes Symphoniques Op.13 (1837 Version) About Dominic John Dominic's pianism has won him won several prizes, including First Prizes in the 22nd Brant International Piano Competition, British Music Society Awards, R.C.M Chappell Gold Medal, a Director's Golden Jubilee Award at the RCM, Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition as well as a laureate of the Corpus Christi, U.S.A. International Competition for Piano and Strings. Performances in this country include the Wigmore Hall, St. John's Smith Square, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Fairfield Hall and the Barbican Hall, St. James’s Palace & Downing Street. Overseas he has played in America, France, Holland, Japan, Korea and Poland. He studied at Chethams School of Music, the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music.
