Heritage Open Day: The museum will feature displays on the town's railway line, closed by Beeching in 1963 and also the remains of watery links from the abandoned Teme Valley Canal and the town's ancient fording links with the River Teme and packhorse route to Wales. Tenbury's railway provided passenger transport to connect to Ludlow for residents and secondary school pupils as well as many freight services carrying orchard fruits vegetables and hops. It was also used for troop movements in the war. The watery links; are provided by the town's situation on the River Teme and its 15th and 17th century arched bridge which has a distinctive bend halfway across and a county change marked in the middle from Shropshire to Worcestershire...
