Saturday 26th April This Fair from 10:00 to 4:30 coincides with The 50th Anniversary of the Society The Speakers have been booked – and the Stalls are now mainly all gone. Including for the First Time Family Search and Essex Family Group The Event takes place from 10:00 to 4:30 p.m. The Event date has been changed to try and avoid problems we have had previously booking Car Parking Spaces etc, as well as any clashes with any University Event. We will have a Free family History Research help Desk (from 11:00 to 15:00) The Speakers are: 11:00 Ian Waller “ The Times they are a changing” How family History Researching has changed over the last 40/50 years 13:00 Nick Barratt – Author, Broadcaster and Historian – best known for his work on “Who do you think you are” He will look at the impact on digital Technology, on the way we research and share information about our ancestors… and the risks and opportunities posed by generative artificial intelligence” 15:15 Judith Bury, Head of Suffolk Archives and The HOLD, with an update on the Suffolk Archives service and plans for the future – including Ancestry. 3 Fascinating talks, at 11:00, 13:30, and 15:15 Interesting displays / stalls from family History and related organisations Free Family History Research Help Desk (from11:00 to 15:00) Saturday 26th April 2025 Doors open 10:00 - finishes 4:30 p.m. FREE ENTRY TO THIS EVENT.....
