Bands play exciting music with good rhythmic drive from a variety of musical traditions, including rock, jazz, world, and roots music as well as English, Scottish, and Irish folk music. A caller guides novices and experienced dancers alike through each of the dances; you can turn up and have fun with no prior knowledge of what is going to happen. Wear comfortable shoes or trainers, and cool clothing; you can get quite warm whilst dancing. English Ceilidh is social dancing at its best.
