6pm-7pm St Mary le Strand, The Strand, London WC2R 1ES Enjoy this exceptional performance, part of the 2024-25 Strand Chamber Music Series in the beautiful candlelit venue of St Mary le Strand. A unique opportunity to experience some of the UK's leading chamber music artists, the series will cover a broad spectrum of repertoire from ensemble works by baroque, classical, romantic and 20th century composers. St Mary le Strand is a stunning and intimate venue, the perfect setting for this musical experience. There are also many bars and restaurants nearby to complete your evening. Featuring Poppy Beddoe (Clarinet) Christina Lawrie (Piano) Programme Johannes Brahms - Clarinet Sonata in E Flat Clara Schumann - 6 Lieder op.13 numbers 1,3, and 6 Donato Lovreglio - La Traviata Fantasy Poppy Beddoe In 2021 Poppy released her debut album, Soliloquy. As a consequence, she will record a concerto written for her by Matthew Taylor with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. As a visiting artist at the University of Houston, Texas, she gives solo recitals, performs music commissioned by the university for her, and gives a lecture series on her Bach transcriptions and building a freelance career. Recently the Artist in Residence of the Clifton International Music Festival, she is looking forward to repeat concerto engagements with the festival orchestra. Upcoming projects will take her around the UK as well as to Sofia, New York and various venues around France. Poppy is the Artistic Director of the Berkshire Chamber Music Festival and an annual concert series in the South of France.
