Since 2005 Get It Loud In Libraries have been putting on high quality gigs in libraries with the best of established and break-through talent. We've had Adele's soulful pipes fill the room and Wolf Alice's fierce guitar riffs shake the stage. This half term we are bringing the GILIL Academy to the young people of Birkenhead; offering participants the chance to learn about all things music industry, meet new people and gain a Bronze Arts Award! But what is the GILIL Academy programme and Music Camp? Our GILIL Academy programme supports young people’s participation and talent development in creative and cultural activities. The programme seeks to challenge and change young people’s perceptions of libraries and to engage new them in using these unique and valuable community assets to their advantage. What to expect? The GILIL Academy Music Camp taking place this February 2025 is a jam-packed series of unique opportunities for young people to engage with live music through workshops, mentoring and work placements. Every young person enrolled will have the opportunity to achieve a Bronze Level Arts Award which is embedded into the programme and to attend future gigs with Get It Loud In Libraries.
