Tickets: £40 (early bird) £45 non-early bird High Clandon Estate Vineyard High Clandon GU4 7RP This year is a celebration of classic jazz featuring the music of Horace Silver, performed by an outstanding quintet made up of some of the UK’s finest musicians: Featuring award-winning UK jazz trumpeter Steve Waterman and Clare Hirst, a UK saxophonist with a distinguished career in pop and jazz music, along with the fantastic rhythm section of composer and pianist Andrea Vicari, Guildford Jazz founder Marianne Windham on bass, and Matt Fishwick on drums. The Horace Silver Project promise to win you over with their all-action and swinging tribute to a founding father of soulful hard bop, including favourites from his enduring Blue Note recordings such as The Preacher, Song for my Father and Sister Sadie. Music to tap your feet to. “How could anyone resist the powerful rhythmic drive of five virtuoso musicians at the top of their form playing music drenched with an intoxicating blend of bebop, blues, funky soul and gospel” – ***** Jazz in Reading Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of Shakespearean Cuvée 2019, and are invited to bring a picnic or enjoy freshly prepared stone-baked pizzas on the lawn. Picnics or Pizzas on the Lawn  Make the most of your time in the glorious surroundings by rustling up your own delicious picnic to enjoy before the Jazz. Feel free to make your picnic as lavish or simple as you choose with drinks of your choice.  There is also the option to treat yourself to a freshly baked wood-fired pizza from our high-quality pizza vendor.
