The Humfrey Rooms, 10 Castillian Terrace, Northampton NN1 1LD MICROTOME AND SLIDE MAKING DAY - led by Gordon Brown. Gordon will demonstrate several different types of microtome, and also his foam embedding technique which works well with plant stems and leaves, making and staining slides from fresh cut material. Be aware that there isn’t time to complete a full wax embedding process in one day, but he will demonstrate the subsequent cutting and staining process using ready made wax blocks and slides with wax sections already on them.
