This event will be outdoors, please come prepared for the weather. We suggest bringing a torch
Some slopes and undulating terrain in the Garden.
You are welcome to bring a picnic. Refreshments will be available to purchase. Petworth House and Park London Road, Petworth GU28 9LR Spend the summer solstice watching the sunset in the Pleasure Garden, and along the front terrace of the house, when the grounds are open from 7-10pm. The Summer Solstice marks the opening of our new exhibition, 'Turner's Vision at Petworth'. For the first time in 20 years, a wide range of J.M.W. Turner’s artistic studies of the extraordinary landscape at Petworth House and Park will be exhibited in the very place that inspired him. The exhibition will close at 9pm. Take a stroll around the garden to see the evening sunlight illuminate the Italian styled Ionic Rotunda and absorb the peaceful atmosphere on the woodland walk.
