'Goodnight Mister Tom' is a play set in 1939 about an evacuee sent from London into the English countryside and his friendships with Mister Tom and Sammy the dog. It's based on Michelle Magorian's novel, adapted for the stage by David Wood. During the dark and dangerous build-up to the Second World War, we follow sad young William Beech, who is evacuated to the idyllic English countryside and builds a remarkable and moving friendship with the elderly recluse Tom Oakley.
