This year, the exhibition features artwork from studio artists past and present, and studio artist friend and special guest, Márcia Porto. June blossoms with work from a group of artists whose sensory antennae are picking up the everyday, the ritualised, the mysterious, the chance poetic encounter. Together these artists amplify a diverse range of practices from semi-abstract painting to Installation, from site-specific creation to performance, from expressionistic to sound art. Join us for this year’s studio artist show, and tune in to the creative rhythms of Encounters. The opening night will feature an acoustic guitar set by The New Encounters Duo. Artist Talks ?Saturday 7th June, 1pm?These talks are informal and there will be time for questions throughout. Encounters opens in the Main Gallery in conjunction with Shadows of Colonialisation in the Project Space. Rebecca McMillan will be exhibiting in our alternative space, Le Loovre, with Diary of a Creative Mess-Mum Edition. As always, there will be a donation bar with ales from local brewery, Pheasantry.
