Sessions at 10.00am, 12.30pm and 15.00pm Free
Iremonger's Pond, Coronation Avenue, Nottingham NG11 7AB
About the event Join Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust and Nottingham City Council for a balsam bash at Iremonger's Pond. This session is a taster session for businesses and community groups to have a go at removing this invasive plant and learn more about the management of our city nature reserves. The day is broken down into three sessions, where you can sign up to a two-hour taster of balsam bashing. Himalayan balsam is an invasive, non-native species responsible for outcompeting many of our native wildlife on waterways in the county. Join us to learn how to remove this pesky plant, why it's important and how you can get involved in different ways to help our wildlife and green spaces, whether its through joining a future Wild Work Day or self-led tasks. This taster day is for local businesses and community groups to have a go at removing this invasive plant. Please note we can only accommodate a maximum of four delegates per business or community group. The What3Words for the exact meeting point is: ///punchy.member.dimes Iremonger's Pond is situated just a short distance from Nottingham city centre, found on the bank of the River Trent opposite Victoria Embankment. It is well served by public transport. Parking is available on Victoria Embankment (///scuba.rigid.sober) then a short walk across the bridge to the reserve. Alternatively, the tram can be used, getting off at the Wilford Village tram stop (///flock.range.known)...
