Live Music in the Courtyard - Fellside Brass Quintet
Sun 27 Jul 25
The event is free to attend for cafe customers and takes place between 12:30 and 14:30
Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre, Spa Well Road, Winlaton Mill, Blaydon on Tyne, Tyne & Wear NE21 6RU
Fellside Brass Quintet will be at the Heritage Centre in the Courtyard this summer – so grab a cuppa and bite to eat and enjoy an afternoon of live music! This talented group of musical friends from Tyneside formed the band in 2018-19 and also play in a variety of other bands and orchestras across the North East. The usual line up is: Stephen and Lesley on Trumpets and Flugel Horns; David on French Horn; another David on Trombone, and Peter on Tuba. They play a wide variety of music, both original works for brass quintet and arrangements of music originally for other ensembles. This can include pop, jazz, musicals and the classics: In fact anything from the last four centuries that is good music, and fun to play and listen to! They’ve given public performances in various settings including Northumbria University, Beamish Museum and Longhirst Garden Festival; and with choirs in Whickham, Heddon and Tynemouth, and are very happy to be asked to support local charities. Free to attend for our café customers, no need to book. If it’s a nice day, why not enjoy a healthy walk or cycle ride to get here – it’s a lovely route through Derwenthaugh Park and we have cycle racks on site. Please note, all seating in the Courtyard, along with bench and planting area seating are reserved for customers of our café – picnics are welcome on the meadow area or in the park nearby (please don’t bring your own food/drink to our café seating areas)...
