Chelmsford Memory Walk 2025

We want to make our Memory Walks as accessible as possible, so it’s free to sign up! However, Memory Walk is a fundraising event to raise money to help those affected by dementia. When you sign up, you will receive a fundraising pack and sponsorship target.

The walks begin at 11:00am. We recommend that walkers arrive at the event site from 10:00am. This allows time to take part in the pre-walk activities such as the Zumba warm-up and allows time for possible delays caused by traffic. Hylands Park, Writtle Gate entrance off Greenbury Way (not London Road) CM2 8FS Memory Walk is a series of sponsored walks run by the charity Alzheimer’s Society, held in September and October across the UK. It's free to sign up and open to all. Every year, thousands of incredible people come together to walk for a future where dementia no longer devastates lives. Share advice, laughter, and support at Chelmsford Memory Walk. When you cross the finish line, celebrate with your medal, knowing you have walked for a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. To make sure everyone's included, there are two routes to choose from on the day of Memory Walk, both starting at our event site at Hylands Park. A short 2km route, which is wheelchair and pushchair accessible and suitable for all ages and abilities. The longer 7km route takes you around the lake and is more challenging and not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs due to the nature of the pathways, and some uneven terrain throughout the route.
