The concert includes much-loved masterpieces by Grieg, such as 'Morning' and the thrilling drama of In the Hall of the Mountain King, from his Peer Gynt suite. The emotional depth of Elgar’s Nimrod (from the Enigma Variations) follows, a timeless tribute to friendship and remembrance. The evening concludes with a tour de force performance of Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor—a masterpiece of Romantic expression, brimming with bold rhythms and sweeping melodies. Performed by the acclaimed Piccadilly Sinfonietta—featuring some of the UK’s most gifted musicians—under the artistic direction of renowned concert pianist Warren Mailley-Smith, this programme offers a stirring journey through passion, poetry, and virtuosity.
