Clowns, Opera, MAYHEM!!! Tellus Theatre Company presents Arias for Phonograph & Singers - a (family-friendly) show aimed at theatre-goers who love to think outside the box. This Clown Opera explores the idea of discovering music for the very first time in a fast-paced postmodern style. With their fascinating new machine up and running, our ill-tempered Clowns realise that with each vinyl disc they play, they’ll be transported into entirely different worlds. From a battle-scene featuring a damsel in distress surrounded by thugs, to a sunny park bench, where one shares lunch with an old friend, or even to the depths of revisiting the memories of a long-lost love. A comedy that aims to elicit the musical memory of the audience, inhabiting an abstract pocket of reality where our known rules don't always apply - using traditional forms of commedia dell’arte, Clown, Opera and a little bit of magic! Arias for Phonograph & Singers was written and directed by Zoë Boyd and stars three tenors? More like three terrors! Holly Campbell, Oliver Ellard, and Noa Zatta. Come and watch any of our eight performances happening across four weeks of matinee weekend shows!
