Lancaster Quaker Meeting House

Meeting House Lane, Lancaster LA1 1TX Heritage Open Day: Quakers first worshipped in Lancaster in 1652 at first in each others homes until a Meeting House was built in 1677. The building you will visit was rebuilt in 1708 it is one of the oldest in Lancaster and is surrounded by a burial ground. We will share with you the history of the Meeting House, how we worship and how we put our faith into action and address part of our history which we have found distressing. You will have the opportunity to explore our grounds, including our gravestones walk, where some visitors may recognise family names. There is seating so that you can sit and enjoy the peace.
