Walkley Community Centre Special Opening of this Historic Building

Sat 20 Sep:1230-1600; Free Entry. 7A Fir Street, Sheffield S6 3TG Heritage Open Day: Explore the architecture and features of the Edwardian former Walkley New Reform Club and meet the Walkley Historians. The Rivelin Valley Conservation Group will display photos and working models of mills and bridges & provide children’s activities. A chance to meet the Walkley Historians in the former Walkley New reform Club which has retained many original features in what the Pevsner Guide describes as “minimal art nouveau style” The event will visit the Ruskin Hall with its sprung dance floor and stage, the original Snooker Hall, the WW1 memorial window and the Appleyard Room named after founder Councillor Walter Appleyard.
