Developing from a formal library service with separate reading rooms for ladies and gentlemen, to opening Sheffield’s first children’s library. Walkley Library is the only Carnegie Library in Sheffield and is a grade II Listed Building, in the Tudor Revival style with features following Andrew Carnegie’s ideals, including a magnificent porch reached by the “steps to wisdom”.
