Longhoughton Churchyard Heritage Day

St Peter and St Paul's Church, North End, Longhoughton, Alnwick NE66 3AG Heritage Open Day: We hope to celebrate the stories of St Peter and St Paul's Church and the lives of the people buried in the churchyard. Find out about families from the parish, events from its past, and help us to record the historic gravestones. Our volunteers will be around the church, talking about the people of Longhoughton and Boulmer, the history of the church, and our churchyard survey. We have so far recorded 170 gravestones around the church, and built up a database of old records to help our research. We are hoping to link a plan of the churchyard to the gravestones, to make a record of their location and how they appear before more inscriptions are lost.
