St John's Church, Victoria Road, Margate CT9 1LG Heritage Open Day: St John's, Margate, is delighted to welcome visitors to remember the Reverend David Railton MC who, while vicar of St John's 100 years ago, submitted proposals for the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey. Friday 12th September 2025 Visit the church between 1000 until 1700 - enjoy our model of the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior and the displays of knitted and crochet poppies made by our craft team. Refreshments available in our pop up cafe. Make a Peace Dove with your children/grandchildren that will include a prayer for peace. All materials provided.
