Heritage Open Day: Display of local history documents, maps and photos. History of community and lives of servicemen in two World Wars. Research of graves in the churchyard and Aston Hall links to Capability Brown. Research into mining fatalities in local collieries. Discover our local history through documents, maps and photographs. Visitors can browse our albums of photographs showing the changes over the years in Aston, Aughton, Swallownest, Fence and Ulley. Albums of information about local men who died in the two World Wars. Find out the results of research on all the graves in Aston churchyard, as well as Aston Hall's connection with 'Capability' Brown. Display cabinets will also show the history of mining, education, churches and chapels, notable people and buildings...
