Heritage Open Day: Come along for a rare glimpse and tour of this beautiful building on Chester's Historic Rows. There are a number of houses in this part of the Rows that date from the first half of the eighteenth century. The largest, after Booth Mansion, is 26 Watergate Street. The interior has a double-pile plan. This describes a house that is two rooms deep, and this architectural layout provides a symmetrical and formal appearance, with paired rooms and, often, symmetrically placed chimneys. It has a beautiful 18th-century turned baluster staircase at its centre and panelled domestic rooms overlooking the Row walkway.
