Stoneacre, Stoneacre Lane, Otham, Maidstone ME15 8RS Heritage Open Day: Enjoy free weekend entry to Stoneacre on the 13th and 14th of September. Joining Heritage Open Days for the second time, discover this fairy-tale hideaway just outside of Maidstone. Stoneacre is a 15th-century half-timbered Wealden Hall-House, surrounded by a glorious tiered garden. It was purchased in 1920 by Aymer Vallance, a follower of the Arts and Crafts movement. Open between 11am - 5pm, with last entry at 4:30pm. In honour of the Arts and Crafts history of the house, we are hosting a drop-in block printing activity in our second-hand bookshop from 11am - 4pm on both days. Learn more about the history of the man that rebuilt Stoneacre while creating an art piece of your own to take home and enjoy.
